A typical mid-terrace house in the historic centre of Badalona has been converted into a spacious, light-filled office through the complete renovation of the existing building and an extension into a small, disused inner courtyard. The project has two distinct parts: the comprehensive rehabilitation of the existing structure — including the demolition of all partition walls to create an open workspace — and a new-build extension housing the main private office and boardroom, with a trafficable roof that extends the upper-floor apartment's outdoor space. A long cupboard unit connects the two areas, concealing the service spaces: waiting room, bathroom, kitchenette and the staircase down to the basement. The staircase receives top light through a rooflight, creating a well of light that reaches the workspaces furthest from the street and articulates the entire plan. Total area: 180 m².
