The starting point for this project was a timber building that would combine the tradition of log construction with a contemporary approach to materials and detailing. The building has a 70 m² ground floor with a double-height living room and three bedrooms. Above the bedrooms are two lofts with large windows at each end. Together with two existing historic structures on the plot, the cottage completes a traditional Finnish rural courtyard.
