The house is located on a generous plot near the village centre of Camallera. The land has a gentle slope and enjoys fine views over the Empordà plain. The building is composed of two main volumes: one for daytime living (sitting and dining room) and one for the sleeping quarters, distributed across the ground floor and a small loft where the principal bedroom is located. A transition space between the two volumes organises the entrance and all horizontal and vertical circulation, including access to the basement garage and wine cellar. The main volumes, as required by local planning, are resolved with traditional materials — stone walls and pitched tile roofs — while the connecting central body is treated in a more contemporary manner, with flat concrete roofs and glazed timber enclosures. The result is a reinterpretation of the traditional Catalan farmhouse, using familiar materials but arranged in new configurations, with particular emphasis on the threshold spaces between inside and out — including the various porches around the perimeter and the central space, designed as a winter greenhouse and a summer outdoor room.
