Helsinki Senate-square Light Pole Design Competition

2018

Helsinki, Finland

COMPETITION ENTRY

3th price

Architect

Tuomo Jauhiainen

Winning proposal for a light pole organised by Helsinki City Hall. The pole had to include both, street and façade lights, and it had to support tram cables. As it was to be placed in the Senate-square, an important square in the city center, the design consisted in a pole that could be kept as simple as possible from one side, so that when you would be looking to the historical façades it would not disturb the views. The proposal was awarded with the third prize.
